Australian bus and coach operator Keolis Downer has joined forces with Transport for NSW to celebrate the one millionth passenger to use the Keoride on demand service.
This service is an advanced, user-oriented form of public transport, which has been servicing the Northern Beaches since 2017. It offers a flexible mode of public transport, meeting the needs of the community in a more personal, accessible and convenient way.
For the service, passengers use an app to easily book rides, track their journey in real-time and provide valuable feedback to both Keolis Downer and Transport for NSW.
“We are incredibly proud to reach this milestone of one million passenger trips on the Northern Beaches,” Keolis Downer CEO Julien Dehornoy says.
“It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, as well as the strong support we have received from the local community.
“We remain committed to enhancing mobility options for everyone in the Northern Beaches.”
Since launching, the Keoride on demand service has completed more than one million trips on the Northern Beaches, with more than 98 per cent customer satisfaction.
Transport for NSW and Keolis Downer say they are committed to delivering a bus network that meets the needs of the community, with Keoride’s success showcasing its focus on customer service, professionalism and care for its drivers and operations team.
Keolis Downer was on hand to recognize Keoride’s one millionth passenger, Seren.
“Keo has been a game changer for me, as it means I can be independent as it’s my only connection to public transport,” Seren, the lucky passenger, says.
“It connects to me to friends, school and the community. The drivers are so friendly and I always feel safe.”
A Transport for NSW spokesperson says the on demand service is designed to get people to and from transport hubs in the easiest way possible with minimal wait times.
“Our on demand service currently operates from Narrabeen out to Ingleside and north up to Palm Beach and since starting in 2017 and has only continued to grow in popularity,” the spokesperson says.
“This service makes going to places without a car, more convenient, safe and reliable for people on the Northern Beaches. Passengers simply book their ride through the app and our buses will get them where they need to go.”
