Kelsian subsidiary secures Colorado motorcoach contract

Kelsian Group has won big in America, securing a Colorado contract worth US$26.5M in its first year

International transport operator Kelsian Group has revealed its wholly owned USA subsidiary Ace Express Coaches has been awarded the contract to provide state-wide motorcoach transit operations throughout Colorado for the iconic Bustang and Pegasus services.

Ace Express has operated this service since inception in 2015, with the vehicles being owned and procured by the State of Colorado.

The new one-year contract is for services from November 1 under substantially the same rates and terms as currently provided.

Kelsian Group, through All Aboard America! Holdings, has entered the contract with Colorado’s department of transportation, securing the brand up to US$26.5 million of revenue in the first year.

Following a competitive tender, the group will operate and maintain approximately 49 Bustang motorcoaches and 16 Pegasus vans, with approximately 125 employees used in the operations.

Kelsian Group managing director Clint Feuerherdt says contract retention remains a key pillar of the group’s global growth strategy.

“Securing up to US$26.5M in revenue in the first year, the contract represents a strategic achievement for our operations in North America. Expansion opportunities also give scope to potentially more than double the existing services to the State of Colorado throughout the contract term,” Feuerherdt says.

“With a successful local operation history spanning back to 2015, the contract affirms our commitment to delivering world-class services to local communities.

“This contract strengthens our position and opens new opportunities for future growth.”

All Aboard America! Holdings CEO Graeme Legh expressed similar pride for the new deal.

“I’m delighted that Ace Express has again been awarded this contract, which ranks as a top 10 contracts for us,” Legh says.

“As a capital light contract with assets supplied by the State of Colorado, the focus is now on ensuring we are well positioned to capitalise on the expansion opportunities.”
