Residents have welcomed a plan for more bus stops in the region
The Brisbane City Council has released details of its new Pallara bus route including the location of six new permanent bus stops to be built.
Calamvale Ward councillor Angela Owen confirmed the stop locations that will be built in Pallara by December this year.
These new bus stops will be built at Brookbent Road, at Ritchie Road close to the old Pallara State School and another near the new Pallara State School.
Owen’s announcement followed the City Council and Queensland transport department’s agreement over a new bus route being installed in Pallara.
The current route 126 from Sunnybank to Acacia Ridge will now be realigned and extended to run along Mains Road and south to Ritchie Road.
The council hopes this change in route will provide Pallara residents with a bus route through CBD connections to Sunnybank Plaza or south to Heathwood.
Although the current route mapping is still in the works and the installation timeline is uncertain, the council wants to install temporary bus shelters while the TMR needs six disability-compliant bus stops to be built before the route kicks off.
These three pair of permanent bus stops will be built to supplement the 125 route, which will be in addition to the 803 Pallara school bus service that Owens has lobbied for in recent years until it started in 2021.

Pallara resident Samantha Spaliviero started a petition for better bus services in the Brisbane south-west region to bring a change for everyone in the area.
“It’s not just me who feels the pressure, it’s the elderly, kids going to their place of learning and commuters going to work,” Spaliviero says.
“We live in Brisbane, not a rural area. After almost 40 years it finally puts Pallara on the map and it’s the start of more services to come.”
Labor state member for Algester Leeanne Enoch says route 126 will be extended from Sunnybank Plaza to Pallara and Heathwood to offer more connections to the wider network.
She also says buses will continue to service Acacia Ridge shops and the TAFE.
