VOLVO BUSES ANNOUNCES NEW 2030 GOALS AND “VISION”

DIRECTIVES further supporting customer needs and environmental targets through quality, safety and sustainability spearhead Volvo Buses’ new ‘vision, strategic priorities and ambitions for 2030’, which the company recently announced.

The new vision –  as of November 10, 2021, and announced via a broadcast from Volvo Buses president Anna Westerberg in Gothenburg, Sweden – states that it’s Volvo’s vision to, “…be the most desired and successful provider of sustainable people transport solutions, driving value creation through innovation, partnerships and people.”

The purpose of this new vision is to further reinforce Volvo Buses long-term direction, with key strategic priorities in place to further emphasise focus areas for the years to come, in order to reach the company’s 2030 ambitions towards safer, more productive and fossil free transport solutions, it explains.

These strategic priorities include developing people and culture, encouraging sustainable and profitable growth, accelerating electro-mobility, growing services and solution sales, and nurturing ongoing partnerships, it says.

“We are thrilled to see Volvo Bus adopting a new and revitalised vision that will help us to achieve our long-term goals,” said Mitch Peden, general manager Volvo Bus Australia.

“Supporting our customers and creating a cleaner, more sustainable and reliable transport industry is a top priority for Volvo Bus. And, together with our customers, supply chain partners, governments, and other stakeholders, we are moving efficiently to develop and offer cleaner, safer and more circular transport solutions to reach our sustainability and productivity targets,” he explained.

BZL ALIGNMENT

Peden continued: “Much of our operations, products and services already align with this new vision; for example, our newly launched Volvo BZL Electric – Australia’s most safe, responsible and sustainable electric bus system – which will be key to our strategy moving forward in providing zero-emission, more efficient and quiet transport.”

“It is our priority to ensure that our collective product and service offerings across the Volvo Bus business aligns with this vision.”

This new vision and strategy for Volvo Buses comes after Volvo Group revised its 2030 vision to drive prosperity through transport and infrastructure solutions, and to be the most globally desired transport and infrastructure provider of choice, it states.

“In line with our new vision, Volvo Bus Australia will continue to be guided by our values of quality, safety and environmental care and will continue to take the lead when it comes to responsibly meeting customer needs and contributing to a more productive and sustainable future for the transport industry,” he concluded.
