BUS-TRUCK COLLISION IN NSW BLUE MOUNTAINS

EMERGENCY services were called to the Great Western Highway at Somers St, Lawson, NSW, about this morning following a bus and truck collision, according to online reports.

As reported by Live Traffic Sydney and 7news.com.au, the incident in the Blue Mountains, outside of Greater Sydney, at 7.25am today left two people trapped.

An Ambulance NSW spokesperson told 7NEWS.com.au that five crews, including a specialist medical team, Fire and Rescue NSW and the Toll Ambulance Rescue Helicopter are on scene.

Two people in the truck were trapped; however, the driver has since been freed and is being assessed by paramedics, the network reports.

The bus driver was uninjured in the collision while one other occupant – a juvenile – suffered a minor hand injury, it confirms.

All westbound lanes are closed on the Great Western Highway, while one eastbound lane remains open, it states.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area or expect delays and allow for plenty of extra travel time, it advises.
