BUS DRIVER STANDARDS LIFT TARGETED: UNION

NSW Transport Workers Union drivers in the privatised bus industry are to pledge action over the coming months as part of a plan to lift standards in that part of the industry, the organisation has announced.

The union says the NSW state government must take responsibility for wages and conditions including realistic scheduling and fatigue management throughout the contracts it awards to private bus companies.

A press conference will follow the vote.

Details are as follows:

 WHEN: 10.30am Friday, 21 May.

WHERE: TWU NSW branch office – 22 John Hines Avenue, Minchinbury, NSW 2770

WHO: TWU NSW Branch Secretary Richard Olsen, plus around 40 bus drivers.
