WITH FEW COMMUTERS wanting a bus service that annoyingly runs late or one that runs disturbingly early, the latest February 2021 TFNSW On-time Running KPI data has highlighted Transit Systems’ improvement – the operator placing first and equal second in Regions 3 and 6, respectfully.

NSW METRO BUS ON-TIME RUNNING DATA: TRANSIT SYSTEMS TOP
“We are proud to reach this milestone, showcasing what we knew to be possible, but more than that we are incredibly satisfied to know that the people of Sydney are the winners, with a more reliable and convenient public transport solution now in operation,” said Sealink CEO Clint Feuerherdt.

Scoring 97.5 per cent in Sydney Metropolitan Bus Service Contracts Region 3 and 97.2 per cent in Region 6 – the latter equalled only by Punchbowl Bus Company in Region 5 – the results mark solid betterment of Transit Systems’ bus service, particularly after receiving prior criticism for its efforts in its then relatively recently acquired Region 6 contract area.

With Transit Systems achieving "…its vision of operating a more reliable service in the Transport for NSW network", securing both first and second places in its regions for On-Time Running in February, 2021, it places the operator well above the KPI of 95 per cent.

SeaLink Travel Group CEO Clint Feuerherdt says it was always the company’s vision to bring world-class practices to the local network and deliver a more reliable and convenient service.

"February marked 12 consecutive months that we have consistently achieved above the KPI set out by Transport for NSW, and we’re absolutely committed to continuing to improve the service for our customers," Feuerherdt stated.

"It wasn’t something we could fix overnight; we have undertaken reviews, assessments, consultations and integrations to ensure a seamless improvement from where we started, to where we are now.

"We are incredibly proud of our team for working through the logistics of all the complex realities involved, and over the course of improvements we have experienced a reduction in customer complaints, a decrease in cancelled services and a huge increase in on-time running," he said.

COMPLAINTS FALLEN

Transit Systems’ (which SeaLink Travel Group now owns) internally collected data shows that complaints have significantly reduced by nearly 45 per cent in the first two years of operation (18/19 versus 19/20), the company confirms.

Feuerherdt says Transport for NSW (TfNSW) had been very accommodating of improvement suggestions and recommendations, from timetable changes to network planning.

"We have had our global team of experts working on these networks, drawing on international experience from some of the most sophisticated public transport solutions across the world, including experiences in the highly regarded Transport for London (TFL) network, and Singapore," he said.

"We are proud to reach this milestone, showcasing what we knew to be possible, but more than that we are incredibly satisfied to know that the people of Sydney are the winners, with a more reliable and convenient public transport solution now in operation," he explained.

MOVING FORWARD

Feuerherdt also commended the NSW State Government on its commitment to providing a more efficient and reliable service to customers, while addressing more sustainable transport solutions.

"As we move forward, we are looking at new ways to improve the customer experience with our Government partners, and we’re excited about the Zero Emission Bus (ZEB) network solutions on the horizon with Transport for NSW.

"It’s an exciting time to catch a bus!" he said.
