Minister for Public Transport, and Minister for Roads and Road Safety, Ben Carroll has announced in a "Statement On V/Line" issued earlier that last night he was, "…advised by my Department of an IBAC investigation into V/Line Chief Executive Officer Mr James Pinder."

It stated further: "On the basis of that advice, I directed the V/Line Board to immediately suspend Mr Pinder, while IBAC carries out its investigation."

"Nick Foa, currently the Head of Transport Services at the Department of Transport, will act as V/Line CEO while a longer-term arrangement is put in place.

"V/Line services will not be affected, and will continue to operate as scheduled.

"As this is an ongoing investigation, it would be inappropriate to comment further," Minister Carroll concluded.
