COMMUTERS in Sydney’s western suburbs will experience some extra-special Christmas cheer this year if they board any of the six select Transit Systems-operated public buses now adorned in decorations made by local school children, the company reports.

The Christmas-decorated buses won't be on a designated route, but will operate any of the services out of the Tempe depot, says Transit Systems.

Each bus’s interior, typically as pictured, was decorated by the students at Tempe Public School, NSW. These decorations were all handmade by the students from Years 5 and 6, the company confirms.

The Kindergarten classes then went for a spin in the decorated bus, with Transit Systems driver Mathew Potter at the wheel, it states.

ON THE APP

The buses won't be on a designated route, but will operate any of the services out of the Tempe depot, says Transit Systems.

Customers, though, will know their bus is a Christmas-spec one by an icon that will appear on the real-time apps, as the operator has supplied Transport for NSW the bus numbers of its six Christmas buses.

The Tempe bus, in this instance, was bus No. 2665.

The final judging for the Best Decorated Bus will take place on 18 December at the Tempe depot.
