27 INJURED IN BUS CRASH – HARDEN, NSW

A GRIFFITH, NSW-BASED coach - hired by a church group - carrying 28 occupants has crashed off the side of a road near Canberra today, NSW Police reports.

About 8.15am on Friday 27 September, 2019, emergency services were called to Burley Griffin Way, Harden, near Canberra, after reports that a coach was involved in a single-vehicle crash.

Officers from Young Police Station, Fire and Rescue NSW and NSW Ambulance paramedics attended the scene.

The coach contained 28 adults and children including the driver, with 25 of the passengers now transferred to Harden hospital with a range of minor injuries.

The other two passengers, including an 8-year-old boy with a fractured leg and a 65 year-old-woman with serious head injuries, were airlifted to Canberra Hospital.

The male bus driver from the church group that hired the M.I.A bus assisted police with their enquiries while at the scene, NSW Police confirms. The bus was not driver by an M.I.A Coaches representative, confirms CEO Owen Brown.
