QLD BUS EVENT TO KICK OFF 2019 AUSTRALASIAN CONFERENCE SEASON

A CHANGING LANDSCAPE is the theme of this year’s Queensland Bus Industry Council’s (QBIC) annual members conference, the first in the series for state-based associations under the Bus Australia Network family banner for 2019.

To be held at The Ville Resort, Townsville, 12-13 April, the objective of the conference is to take members, “… on a journey, a journey on how we must adapt going forward to ensure business continuity and service viability,” said QBIC executive director and association secretary.

“We have finally bedded down South-East Queensland urban contracts and are now progressing to finalise regional urban contracts. Our school sector also needs a refresh and a new payment model that has the capacity to remain relevant across multiple years, captures all price movements and operational expenditure for a school bus operator,” he explained.

According to the organisation, the annual conference offers a unique opportunity to engage fellow bus operators and key decision makers of the billion-dollar industry in a relaxed, friendly and informative atmosphere.

“I have endeavoured to deliver a program that is balanced and informative across all member sectors, supported by a fantastic social program,” he said.

Historically, Townsville in April delivers an average temperature range of 22 to 29 degrees with around 70mm of rain.

“On behalf of my executive and team, we look forward to welcoming you to Townsville as a united industry, one that has a purposeful direction and voice,” Tape said.
