EVENT COACH TOURISM GETS BIG STATESIDE ON-DEMAND PUSH

ARGUABLY TAPPING INTO AN emerging trend for travellers to take mini trips in home nations without driving themselves, Daimler Buses recently teamed up with US-based on-demand organisation Rally specifically for event-based mobility, it states.

Rally is a start-up organisation in shared mobility in North America that unites and connects people travelling to concerts, sports, events and the like, maximising the convenience of commuters not having to worry about driving there and simply leaving theirs cars at home.

As part of this strategic partnership with Rally in North America, both organisations will be cooperating in the on-demand bus market across a range of disciplines, specifically related to event-based mobility.

Daimler Buses and Rally both envision high occupancy vehicles as a solution to the mobility challenges of the future – especially with rising urbanisation and emphasis on experiential spending, says Daimler.

Ridesharing services have unlocked value in adjacent industries and, similarly, Rally takes advantage of the underutilised assets of local bus fleets.

By using Rally, event-participants can choose their related destinations. High-end buses take them to the location across more than 3000 cities across the United States and Canada. The value of Rally is to provide event-goers with easy, comfortable and safe travel, says Daimler.

Daimler Buses is – with its bus brands Mercedes-Benz, Setra, and BharatBenz – part of the Daimler Group.

With these brands, Daimler Buses covers every requirement that customers have in the bus segment and develops holistic mobility solutions in response to the process of digitalisation and the fundamental transformation of mobility, it says.
