NEW FUSO LIGHT BUS ROSA INTRODUCED IN JAPAN; AUSSIE TRIAL TO COME

A REDESIGNED ‘FRONT FACE’ hallmarks the new Mitsubishi Fuso 2018 model-year Rosa, which was launched for sale throughout outlets across Japan recently, the company has announced.

Featuring a “new design language” it is the first front-end visual change on the model since 1997, Fuso states, with the ‘black belt design’ to be, “…applied across the entire Mitsubishi Fuso product line-up.”

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) – which comes under the umbrella of Daimler Trucks Asia (DTA) – says the new ‘language’ integrates the “Fuso black belt” design element that enhances the Fuso logo and signifies the new brand identity of upcoming Mitsubishi Fuso vehicles.

Further, the 2018 Rosa features optimised headlamps and new-style LED fog lamps available on certain Rosa models, it says.

Industry sources say there is no solid indication of if or when this will be available in Australia, but experts predict within the next 12 to 24 months would be a good bet.

Fuso insiders confirm that any new Rosa intended for Australia would “naturally be running a pilot programme”, to ensure it is suitable for Australian conditions.

The new big change for the local market would be the 3.0-litre four-cylinder engine – said to pump out 129kW – running with a “very easy to use” DCT dual clutch automated transmission.
