FREE BUS TOURS ANNOUNCED FOR NEW WA NORTHLINK SITE

THE CHANCE TO BE ONE of the first to travel along the stunning new West Australian NorthLink is open to those who register ASAP, with free bus tours arranged for the Tonkin Highway extension this September, the WA State Government has announced.

The community is invited on the exclusive NorthLink WA site tours, where you’ll travel through the construction site with a member of the project team and see the magnitude of this significant infrastructure initiative, organisers state.

At AUD$1.02 billion, the NorthLink WA initiative is jointly funded by the Australian ($821 million) and Western Australian ($204 million) governments.

Western Australia Transport Minister Rita Saffioti said: “I am pleased to offer our community the unique opportunity to tour through this significant infrastructure project and see the magnitude of the works firsthand.”

“I would recommend people reserve a place as soon as possible.

“NorthLink WA construction is progressing at an incredible pace with the central section now over 50 per cent completed and all road bridges under construction.”

The free bus tours will take interested residents through the construction site of the NorthLink WA central section, from Reid Highway to Ellenbrook, on Saturday September 15, 2018.

Members of the public are encouraged to take the opportunity to tour along the new road alignment, view the Tonkin Highway entrance into Ellenbrook, see the Tonkin-Reid Highway interchange up close and ask questions of the construction team, it’s stated.

Three bus tours will be held on the morning of September 15, departing at 9.15am, 10.30am and 11.45am. The tours will take about one hour. The bus pick-up and drop-off location will be in the car park at The Potter’s House, 480 Marshall Road, Beechboro (entry from Marshall Road).

Travellers interested can register now at www.northlinkwacommunitytours.eventbrite.com.au, call 1800 874 998, or email info@gncjv.com.au.
