Swan Transit moving ahead

Albany school bus services resumed successfully under supervision of new operator Swan Transit, who now run the service in WA

Swan Transit has expanded its regional bus operations after being awarded the contract to operate Albany Regional Town Bus Services in May.

Transit Systems CEO Clint Feuerherdt says he is confident of delivering a seamless transition.

“The back to school service went well and was uneventful, which in this business is good,” he says.

“All buses departed on time, connections were made and students got to their respective schools.”

The company operates 17 buses from the newly constructed depot at Centennial Park.

“We have successfully transitioned more public bus contracts than any other provider in Australia, and we are looking forward to improving regional public transport outcomes for the community alongside the Western Australia Public Transport Authority (PTA).

“We have a proud history of improving outcomes for the communities we service, and look forward to bringing our global experience as part of the Transport for London and Transport for NSW networks, to the Albany region.

“Working with employees and the community, we can apply successful transport philosophies and practices to the local market conditions, creating an optimal service for passengers and the government.”

Transit Systems already operates over 30 per cent of public bus contracts in Western Australia.
