Bus Qld depot opening

Bus Queensland’s Park Ridge Transit depot opened to much fanfare in Logan on Monday

The new Bus Queensland depot positions the local company to take advantage of the recent growth in the region.

The state of the art facility will now have stabling capacity of more than 100 buses and is designed to house over 140 staff.

Pulitano Group Managing Director Adam Pulitano says Bus Queensland is a proud local company delivering continued growth in the area which it expects will carry on over the coming years.

“Bus Queensland proudly lives by the motto ‘Connecting our Community’ and that’s exactly what this new depot will provide for the local residents which utilise  our services – estimated to be 315,000 people,” he says.

The organisation connects communities statewide across Ipswich, Springfield, Toowoomba, outback Queensland, Lockyer Valley, and Logan.

In Toowoomba and in Park Ridge, the Queensland company provides urban, school, long distance, charter and services for students with disabilities.

“Bus Queensland has long played an active role in the community providing ongoing support to local schools and sporting clubs, participating and playing a role with charity organisations,” Pulitano says.

Across the state, the Bus Queensland company operates 273 buses and employs about 460 staff.

Logan MP Linus Power attended the opening on behalf of Deputy Premier Jackie Trad.

“I’m looking forward to seeing this new purpose built depot provide from a network and resource perspective for the people of West Logan,” he says.

“By building and encouraging local relationships within the regions through local knowledge and expertise, that will make the transition to achieve better outcomes for all customers and the community a reality.”

Driver training will remain a key focus moving forward with two new and improved training rooms available for both drivers and staff.

The 140 staff based onsite welcomed the new facility which includes driver recreation and break out areas, lockers, showers, and ample customer parking.

In the last financial year, Park Ridge Transit undertook a staggering 88,000 trips and carried 3.9 million passengers safely to their destination.
