SkyBus servicing St Kilda

St Kilda will now have express access to the Melbourne Airport every day

SkyBus recently began a new service from St Kilda to the airport, running every 30 minutes during the week and every hour on weekends.

Additionally, the service will be free until August 20 as a celebration of the new service and to encourage use during its inauguration.

The Express will stop on Barkly Street near Inkerman Street, on the Carlisle and Albert Streets intersection, The Esplanade near Alfred Square, and finally, Fitzroy Street near the St Kilda Bowls Club before departing St Kilda for Tullamarine.

St Kilda Tourism & Events president Llewellyn Wyeth says the SkyBus service will greatly benefit tourism in the area.

“St Kilda has so many icons that are associated with Melbourne and seeing the red SkyBus shuttling between the area and airport will be another one.

SkyBus director Michael Sewards says the service that was previously unavailable to the Port Phillip area will be a big difference for locals.

“The St Kilda Express service makes travelling to and from the airport even more accessible and cost effective than ever before – especially for the first week when it’s free!”

“Our route to the airport is direct and will offer the amenities that our customers have come to expect and appreciate about SkyBus – free Wi-Fi, comfortable and modern vehicles, and a superior service.”

The services will run from 6:30am until 7:00pm, except for weekends which get an extra 30 minutes and finish at 7:30.
