NSW data expansion

Bus users across New South Wales will soon have more options to access real-time bus data

The New South Wales (NSW) Government has announced an expansion of real-time bus data, delivering customers up to the minute service information to their smartphones.

Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Andrew Constance says customers can now follow their chosen service on any of the 11 real-time transport apps across the network from Nelson Bay in the north, Shellharbour in the south and west to Penrith.

“Our customers have a huge appetite for following public transport in real-time, with over 900 million data serves delivered to real-time apps in 2015, an increase of over 50 per cent on the year before,” he says.

“The NSW Government is investing in Future Transport and this tool not only improves transparency around information, but also helps customers plan their journeys around Sydney.”

Work is underway to further expand real-time data across the Blue Mountains and Hunter Valley.

The rollout of real-time data is part of the NSW Government’s commitment to technology and a forward-thinking transport network.

Transport for NSW has eleven real time apps on the App Store or Google Play including TripGo, Triptastic, TripView, Arrivo Sydney, Transit App, abil.io, TransitTimes, Commute, Metarove, Moovit and NextThere.
