Volvo Bus Australia welcomed a new sales manager for Queensland and Northern Territory recently.

Tony Browne’s appointment comes as Volvo Bus Australia restructures its sales team, with the decision to base a sales manager in Queensland, and strengthen its presence in the Northern Territory, and follows Tony Lowrey’s decision to pursue a different career path.

Meanwhile, industry veteran Ray Andrich has taken control of all sales in New South Wales.

"Tony Browne has a strong blend of experience in sales, service and application engineering," Volvo Bus Australia general manager Sean Copeland says.

"Experience in these fields allows a balanced and informed approach to customer requirements and in-field challenges."

Although new to the bus industry, Browne’s previous role was at Volvo Trucks where he has spent the last 14 years as a sales engineer.

In this role, he was responsible for providing sales support to dealers, sales staff, fleet operators and body builders throughout Australasia.

He has also spent more than 10 years as a state sales manager and time as a state service manager for various companies.

"I am very excited for the opportunity to move into the bus division and look forward to working with our dynamic team," Browne says.

"Partnership and support are paramount in surviving today’s market and we pride ourselves on doing this well.

"I will continue the excellent work already done in Queensland and the Northern Territory by my colleagues and look forward to meeting the extended Volvo family of customers."
