Like fine wine, some things just get better with time.

And while the bus industry can surely appreciate a fine wine (or two), there have been times throughout there year when it was important to get down to business.

It was a year of achievements for industry and now it’s time to take a look back at the year of 2015.

MAY

Contracts certain

Queensland operators were in for some good news at the annual QBIC conference held in Cairns in 2015.

The State Government confirmed there would be a return to the negotiated contract model creating certainty for the state’s operators.

Rolf Mitchell was also named as the new council president.

Fresh approach

In contrast, BusNSW delegates were still looking for answers at the same time with the association continuing to work with rural and regional operators for their contract concerns.

A Key Performance Indicator (KPI) workshop was held to help explain proposed new contract provisions to operators.

The conference was also an opportunity to welcome new state transport minister Andrew Constance to the bus industry.
