Women in the bus industry are invited to a unique event to learn from inspirational leaders in the field at the Bus Association Victoria (BusVic) Women on Board Seminar at the Crown (Casino) Conference Hall in Melbourne on November 20.

Keynote speaker is Victorian minister for women Fiona Richardson, who will talk about the work she has been doing to advocate on behalf of women.

Bus Association Victoria (BusVic) marketing manager Craig Spurr is looking forward to hosting the event and could not be happier with the range of speakers who will be presenting on the day.

"This year’s focus is on connectivity, community and culture and we have about 140 delegates registered so far," he says.

"I’d encourage everyone to get their registrations in as soon as possible."

The event has run for six or seven years now, has grown in scale since and is always highly anticipated.

"We enjoy a really solid and committed base of attendees, and it’s always great value," Spurr says.

"We welcome all newcomers, and it’s a great event to meet others in the industry.

"We have a great range of speakers and are especially looking forward to the presentation by Victorian minister for women Fiona Richardson."

Other speakers include Bus Industry Wellness Taskforce spokesperson Dr Julia Evans, CDC Victoria representative Marcelle Davis and CultureWorks spokesperson Dr Barb West – whose presentations will be followed by a networking lunch.

Topics covered will include how bus operators contribute to community connectedness, the importance of effective community engagement programmes and intercultural communication.

Those interested in attending should visit the BusVic website and follow the link for information on how to register.
