VIDEO: BusVic expo success

Organisers of the BusVic expo held in Melbourne this week are pleased with industry support

The 2015 Maintenance Conference and Bus Expo has been deemed a success by organisers, with a record turn-out of delegates.

The expo was held at Melbourne Exhibition Centre on July 8 and 9, with organisers estimating 1500 delegates attended the two-day event.

This was the first time the event was held at the exhibition centre – which provided a complete undercover venue – as previous conferences and show have been held at Moonee Valley Racing Club.

BusVic executive director Chris Lowe says the event is one of the best ever to be organised by the association.

“I think this has been an outstanding success,” he says.

“The BAV conference committee has done a great job.”

Lowe also thanked the suppliers for their support of the event as costs had increased somewhat compared to previous BusVic events.

“The venue and the costs associated with this event aren’t cheap, but the suppliers have stepped up,” he says.

“I want to thank the suppliers wholeheartedly for showing their continuing support.”

Keynote speakers and entertainers at the event included Mark Donaldson VC, Mark ‘Bomber’ Thompson, Kate Ceberano and James Galea.

The industry gala dinner held at Crown Palladium on July 8 attracted about 1000 people, with a closing event held at Munich Brauhaus.

Lowe indicated the association will hold another conference event in 2016.
