Bendigo bus review

Public Transport Minister Jacinta Allan has announced a second round of community consultation

The Bendigo bus network in Victoria will undergo a second round of community consultation to allow for input from the community.

Victorian Minister for Public Transport Jacinta Allan has announced a second round of community consultation about the Bendigo bus network.

Allan says the community response to last year’s consultation was significant and that a second round was needed, to ensure the views of the Bendigo community were accurately reflected in the local bus network.

Consultation will be held in the coming months, and provide another opportunity for the Bendigo community to have input into the design of the bus network that they use every day.

Allan says she understood the concerns raised by locals about the length, notice and promotion of the first round, which is why she has intervened to see consultation re-opened.

A new, better bus network for Bendigo will be in place this year, and will compliment other major transport improvements, including Bendigo Metro.

“The community response to the bus network review shows how passionate people in Bendigo are about buses and public transport,” says Allan.

“I want to see that passion reflected in the bus services we use every day, which is why I have intervened to see community consultation re-opened.”

More information regarding consultation times and locations will be provided in the coming weeks, well ahead of sessions commencing.
