Change to TAS Metro timetable

Metro Tasmania will introduce additional bus services in November to improve running times

Metro Tasmania will introduce additional services to the North West Regional Hospital next month as part of a review to improve running times and service reliability in Burnie.

Acting Chief Executive Officer Alan Pedley says timetables in Burnie have been revised to take into account current traffic conditions and running times with a view to improving service reliability.

At the same time Metro is introducing additional services to the North West Regional Hospital.

"With the completion of the Cancer Care Centre at the hospital in 2015 we are taking the opportunity to improve access to the North West Regional Hospital complex with additional services during the day on weekdays and on Saturday to benefit staff and visitors to the hospital," says Pedley.

Routes 41 and 51 will now have 11 extra services a day on weekdays and nine brand new services on Saturdays.

Metro will also re-introduce advice on wheelchair accessible bus services.

"All of our Saturday services will be on wheelchair accessible buses," Pedley says.

"We will also show wheelchair accessible services in our timetables so people with a disability can easily identify the routes and times they will be available."

The new Tasmania Metro timetables in Burnie will come into effect from November 4.
