Public welcome at Bus Expo

Public are invited to view the national bus expo next week to gain more understanding of industry

Public have been invited to view the almost 100 exhibitors at this weekend’s Gold Coast bus conference and expo, hosted by the Bus Industry Confederation (BIC) and Queensland Bus Industry Council (QBIC).

The joint event will be held on the Gold Coast, Queensland, from September 28 to October 1, with 1000 delegates and almost 100 exhibitors expected through the convention centre doors.

This is the first time the national and state association will run a conference side-by-side as well as hold a bus expo, which will be at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.

BIC Executive Director Michael Apps says the exhibition will be open to public on September 30 from 2pm to 4pm.

“I want to make sure that the public understand the nature and size of the industry,” he says.

“It’s going to be a great event.”

Apps says the conference and expo are shaping up well and will be a great opportunity for the bus industry to learn about new technologies and network.

“It’s going to be a great couple of days for the industry to express themselves to the Federal Minister [for Infrastructure and Regional Development], the shadow Minister and a range of other key decision makers in Australia.”

The BIC has so far received about 1000 registrations for the event although there is still time for people to register if they wish.

“It’s not too late to register to come along,” says Apps.
