National bus conference registrations open

Registrations for the BIC/QBIC conference on the Gold Coast have already reached 500

More than 500 delegates have already confirmed their attendance for the Australasia Bus & Coach Conference & Expo 2014 but there is still more time to register.

The joint Bus Industry Confederation (BIC) and Queensland Bus Industry Council (QBIC) event will be held on the Gold Coast, Queensland, from September 28 to October 1.

This is the first time the national and state association will run a conference side-by-side as well as hold a bus expo, which will be at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.

BIC Executive Director Michael Apps says there is still time to register with about 700 people expected to attend in total.

“There’s still time for people to get in, we’ll take registrations right up to the last minute.”

Delegates so far have come from each state and territory, as well as registrations from New Zealand, US and Europe.

“There’s also a good, broad range of operators from small operators to our biggest.”

Apps says the show will be “good value” for those in attendance.

“Come along and listen to what’s going on in the industry through the conference program and take away some knowledge.”

He says the expo itself is also shaping up well.

“It’s got a mix – we think it’s going to be our biggest roll-up,” he says.

“This is an important year it’s part of the transition to one expo every year rather than what’s occurred in the past with different expos.”

Apps says delegates’ attendance at the conference will reiterate the support the industry has for the work the associations do.
