New coach service for Melbourne commuters

Melbourne businessmen will be able to use a business-class coach service to get to the CBD

Commuters in Melbourne will now be able to use a new business-class coach service to tackle the daily journey to and from the city.

SuitJet launched the service this week and unveiled the first three Mercedes customised coaches at Melbourne Docklands.

The services start operation from September 8 with bookings open to members from September 1.

Chief Executive Office and Co-Founder Darren Heiberg says the new service aimed to revolutionise commuting.

“Our service is accessed through membership to a travel club that provides a business-class commuter experience,” he says.

“We’re not competing with public transport, but providing a new service for those commuters who currently put up with cost and inconvenience of driving themselves to and from the city.”

Commuters can tailor the service they want by registering their interest online to nominate their local suburb and preferred daily CBD arrival and departure times to shape the demand-driven commuter service.

Heiberg says the service will allow members to sit back in climate-controlled comfort and get a start on the day by clearing their morning emails or preparing for their first meeting.

“Service matters to everyone and in particular business people. Businesses and families also benefit from happy and productive commuters arriving fresh in the office and back at home,” he says.

“SuitJet uses the convenience of Internet connectivity to give people access to a business-class commuting experience at an affordable price.”

SuitJet is a private club that uses corporate coaches to convey white-collar professionals from suburban Melbourne locations to the CBD on a daily basis.
