New comprehensive weekly travel update to help customers use public transport in Victoria

Public Transport Victoria (PTV) has launched a new weekly travel update email to subscribers as part of a suite of customer information tools to be released this year.

The weekly email will keep customers informed of planned disruptions across the network, helping them plan their travel for the week ahead around Melbourne and regional Victoria.

PTV Director of Customer Services Alan Fedda says the travel information now available to customers is more comprehensive than ever before.

“We are constantly seeking ways to better inform our customers about their travel options on public transport,” he says.

The email is the third product in a suite of customer information tools released this year and follows the pilot of network status boards at three stations on the Frankston line, and the launch of live travel updates on the PTV website.

Fedda says this year has seen a significant shift in the number of ways customers can access up-to-date journey information.

He says both regular public transport users and infrequent users would benefit from the email.

“The current level of investment in our public transport infrastructure is unprecedented,” he says.

“The scale of improvement works sometimes means that we have to make changes to public transport services to get things done and staying informed via a travel update email allows customers to better plan their journeys now and in the future.

“This is the beginning of an exciting time for customers.”
