Milan will play host to the biennial UITP World Congress and Exhibition in 2015

The countdown to the 61st International Association of Public Transport (UITP) World Congress and Exhibition in Milan has begun with the event now less than one year away.

Milan will play host to not only to the Universal Exposition in 2015 but also the biennial UITP World Congress and Exhibition on June 8 to 10, 2015.

Politicians, transport CEOs and urban visionaries from around the world will convene to discuss the challenges facing public transport.

This includes dealing with growing urbanisation, liberating cities from congestion, offering better quality services, finding alternative funding and reacting to changing customer needs.

Alongside the Congress sessions, the exhibition will present and demonstrate the very latest innovative products and solutions from leading manufacturers and the emerging trends set to shape the future of urban mobility in the years to come.

“The 61st UITP World Congress and Exhibition comes at a time when many cities around the world are facing increasing congestion and pollution linked to private motorised transport,” says UITP Secretary General Alain Flausch.

“The event will be the ideal opportunity to reshape the cities of tomorrow and advance the cause of public transport around the world.”
