Google maps integration in management system Australia first

Australasian operators will soon be able to use Google Maps within an existing management system

A bus and charter booking system has integrated Google Maps into the management program in an Australian first.

Distinctive Systems Account Manager Alan Williamson says more than 1000 operators in the country use the system and will now have the added benefit of Google maps being integrated into the software.

“Coach Manager is a start to finish solution for the management of charter and contract work specially designed for coach, minibus and chauffeur operators,” he says.

“Following recent negotiations with Google, Distinctive Systems has been appointed a Google OEM Partner and has licensed Google Maps for Business for integration into our Coach Manager charter and contract booking system and our Tour Booking System.”

Williamson says the annual cost for Distinctive Systems to license Google Maps for unlimited use by clients is substantial.

“Despite this, we will be providing the integrations, including the use of Google Maps, entirely free of charge to all clients with a current software maintenance agreement,” he says.

“Google Maps is a worldwide solution, so, for the very first time, we are now in a position to provide our many clients in Australia, New Zealand and other locations not covered by Microsoft MapPoint with an integrated mapping solution.”

The expected release date for the Coach Manager integration is early August.
