Ads for trams

Advertising on the Gold Coast light rail system will commence in September

Go Transit Media Group has been announced as the successful contractor for the provision of Gold Coast Light Rail Vehicle Advertising which will commence in September this year.

Chief Operating Officer Rick Chapman says after successfully tendering for the project, the company has now entered into an exclusive agreement with the Department of Transport and Main Roads to provide tram wraps and advertising on the new Gold Coast Light Rail Network.

“Go Transit currently plays a significant role in the Gold Coast media landscape providing transit advertising to the Transit Australia Group (TAG) on the Gold Coast who operate more than 400 route and school buses in this region,” he says.

“We have been overwhelmed with the response to our large format advertising on the TAG buses on the Gold Coast and we are confident the Gold Coast Light Rail advertising will deliver similar results for businesses and brands wanting broad scale exposure.”

The first tram wraps are expected to appear in early September operating along the 13km light rail corridor linking the Griffith University with Broadbeach and connecting the key activity centres of Southport and Surfers Paradise.

Head of National Sales Paula Hay says the opportunity to be able to offer both transit advertising and light rail advertising opportunities on the Gold Coast will provide large national clients with a unique opportunity to reach a broad audience.

“We plan to go to the market immediately with advertising opportunities and will be working with KDR and GoldLinQ to have campaigns underway in early September,” she says.
