Auckland public transport ramped up with three major events over the weekend
Auckland city has implemented a special public transport plan this weekend with many major events taking place.
The NRL Auckland Nines, the Eminem concert and the taking Auckland Lantern Festival this weekend are all expected to draw a huge crowd.
On Saturday large crowds are expected at all events and at Britomart Transport Centre, as people make their way to Eden Park, Western Springs or Albert Park in the city.
As a result, Auckland Transport has scheduled special event buses and trains to help people move around the city.
People are also being encouraged to use public transport as there will be a number of road closures and diversions in and around these events.
Normal bus and train fares will apply to services, and early Sunday morning bus or train services will also be provided.
