New PTV CEO

Public Transport Victoria has appointed a new CEO who will take up the role in the New Year

Public Transport Victoria has named Mark Wild as the new Chief Executive Officer of the organisation, effective from February 2014.

Current Chief Executive and Chair Ian Dobbs says after an extensive international search, the PTV Board made the appointment with approval of Victoria’s Public Transport Minister Terry Mulder.

Wild is currently PTV’s Director of Projects and Technical Services, and Dobbs will continue to focus on his role as Chair.

“With more than 14 years experience at an executive level, Mark has worked in both the private and public sectors, and brings to PTV a passion for public transport that will be a great asset to the organisation and to Victoria’s public transport system,” says Dobbs.

“I will continue to have an activate role within PTV, providing support for Mark as he concentrates initially on the day-to-day workload of managing our public transport system but also acting as an advocate for public transport and managing many of our external relationships. “

Wild says he is humbled to be appointed to the role of CEO.

“I have been with PTV for 15 months and in that time the organisation has delivered significant improvements for public transport users across Victoria,” he says.

“I look forward to working with the Government, our public transport operators and the dedicated staff at PTV to continue to deliver on our vision for the public transport network.”

Mulder says Wild is the ideal choice for CEO and his appointment against such a strong field of international candidates is of great credit to him and PTV as a whole.
