Crash start

High school students of Gympie, QLD, had a scratchy start to the Christmas season when they were involved in a minor bus crash this week.

The two vehicles from Polleys Coaches were involved in the minor nose-to-tail incident on Wednesday morning, on the freeway near Springwood.

Operations Manager Stephen O’Neil says an excess of 120 students were involved in the episode.

Although nobody was seriously hurt, he says there were “minor scratches and bruises” obtained by some pupils.

“Three people were taken to hospital and released immediately.”

O’Neil says a car had stopped suddenly in front of the first bus which caused the collision.

He says the investigation is ongoing and declined to comment further.

The five busloads of students were on their way to Dreamworld, Gold Coast, for their end of year celebrations, according to the Fraser Coast Chronicle.
