NZ submission

Hearings will be held to decide on the preferred option for the public transport spine in Wellington

November 26, 2013

Hearings on the submissions about the public transport spine options through Wellington City begin today.

An 18-month study of the most feasible options for a high quality high frequency public transport spine between Wellington Station and the Regional Hospital was completed in June.

The three most feasible options were put out for public consultation between July and September.

A sub-committee of the Regional Transport Committee will meet today and next week to hear submitters, consider all the feedback and decide on a preferred option.

The recommended option will then be considered by Wellington City Council, Wellington Regional Council and the NZ Transport Agency before going to the Regional Transport Committee for a decision.

The hearings are open to the public and will be held at the Mokopuna Room, Wharewaka building, Odlins Square, Taranaki Wharf.
