Myki to expire

Public transport users who received or brought their myki card almost four years ago are being urged to check expiry dates

October 8, 2013

Seniors are being reminded to check the expiry date of their myki cards as the 2013 Victorian Seniors Festival activities kick off.

Seniors who received a free myki in 2010 or purchased their card close to four years ago will soon need to replace their myki as they are due to expire.

People can quickly and easily replace their expired or soon to expire myki at the ticket window at any staffed Metro or V/Line station.

PTV Customer Service Staff will be visiting key Victorian Seniors Festival sites to provide myki advice and assistance to seniors.

Customer Service Staff will have devices to check the expiry date of myki cards for people attending Victorian Seniors Festival events.

Seniors who have their myki checked will be given an expiry reminder card noting the date their card expires, and provided advice on how best to go about getting a replacement.

To be eligible for free public transport travel, seniors must carry their Victorian Seniors Card with them and present it to public transport staff on request.

The 2013 Victorian Seniors Festival will be held from October 6 to 13.
