The debut of a new line of buses will be one of the highlights at the Bus and Coach Show in Sydney next month.

Optare will showcase it’s the latest low-floor Optare Solo and Tempo models, and the Bonito minibus will make its first appearance outside Europe.

Australian Optare distributor Automotive Group Managing Director Tony Fairweather says the models set a new benchmark for operator productivity and profitability.

"With class leading tare weights, low fuel consumption and the latest in integral body design, Optare is a must for any fleet focused on the bottom line."

He says the new Solo complies with ADR59 roll over requirements, and both use the latest driver cockpit design to reduce driver fatigue and the latest ABS and Traction Control technology and high driver visibility.

"Customer comfort is also a focus of our design with large glass windows for natural lighting, high performing air-conditionings systems, LED lights, DDA compliance and wide aisle access," says Fairweather.

Optare will also display its new model, the Bonito, for the first time outside of Europe.

Designed to carry up to 16 passengers or 5 wheelchairs, the Bonito utilises mechanical components from the Fiat Ducato and has a gross weight of up to five tonnes.

"Bonito is an exceptional minibus in its own right. However, Patico is doubly proud to bring Bonito to Australian customers to provide a new standard in accessible minibus transport for Australian communities," says Fairweather.

The Bus and Coach show will be held at The Sydney Showgrounds on September 25 and 26. See www.busshow.com.au for more information.
