Mees remembered at funeral service
A funeral service for renowned transport academic and public transport advocate Paul Mees was held today

Mees, who passed away from cancer last week, was remembered at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Brunswick, followed by a private cremation.
In lieu of flowers, donations were made to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in memory of Mees.
The RMIT University academic is best known for his book, Transport for Suburbia: Beyond the Automobile Age, a report on the proposed $8.5 billion Melbourne rail tunnel, and Transport Policy at the Crossroads, which analyses census data of how residents of Australian’s seven cities have travelled to work over the last 35 years.
He was aged 52.
