Changes to QLD bus network to begin

Translink has started implementing recommended changes to the south east QLD bus network

June 3, 2013

Translink will begin implementing changes proposed under the south east Queensland bus review after the Queensland Government accepted Brisbane City Council’s
recommendations recently.

The bus review was completed in late May after three rounds of community consultation.

Queensland Transport Minister Scott Emerson accepted council’s recommendations and says they will be included with the implementation report for the network’s 13 other operators.

Under council’s recommendations, nine Brisbane bus routes will be cut and 78 altered.

The entire review included 14 bus operators and eight councils.

A dedicated online resource is available from June 3 on the Translink website to track the implementation progress of the bus review.

“Council and Translink will now move to implement the recommendations and keep passengers informed and updated through public information sessions and website updates,” Emerson says.

“As we progress through implementation we will provide regular updates with the latest news in each region, including specific information on matters such as implementation dates when this becomes available.”

Brisbane routes to be cut include:

  • P374 Paddington to City
  • P436 City to Brookfield
  • P461 Forest Lake to City
  • P356 McDowall to City
  • 328 Boondall to Carseldine
  • P88 Eight Mile Plains to Indooroopilly via City pre-paid fare express
  • 62 Darra Station to Heathwood
  • 465 Richlands Station to Heathwood
  • 466 Richlands Station to Willawong
