Feedback flows for Brisbane bus review

Brisbane residents have just one week left to have their say on Brisbane’s bus network review

With the future of Brisbane’s bus services hanging in the balance, residents have just one week left to have their say on changes to
the city’s
bus network.

So far, there have been 1,188 pieces of feedback received on council’s network review proposals, according to a council spokesperson.

There have also been 213 pieces of feedback received on other routes – those without proposals.

Council in April released its proposed changes to the Brisbane bus network after a barrage of public criticism in March prompted the State Government to surrender responsibility for reviewing Brisbane bus services as part of a state-wide network review.

Under council’s proposals, 80 services will be changed and nine bus routes cut if approved by the State Government.

Council’s review document also shows timetables will be cut, several bus stops will become redundant, and several routes will be amalgamated.

Much like the State Government’s original south east Queensland network review, the proposed changes have attracted broad criticism.

Residents have until midnight, May 20 to have their say on proposed changes to Brisbane’s bus network.

“Council encourages residents to provide their feedback before 20 May so that it can be considered as part of council’s response, which is due to the State Government on 1 June,” a council spokesperson says.

Submissions are not available for viewing, but an indication of public interest in the future of certain bus routes
is
shown
by the number of page views for each route proposal on council’s website, where proposed service changes can be seen.
