Feedback figures in for Brisbane bus review

Brisbane's chance to comment on the city's bus network review has ended and the figures are in

Time has run out for Brisbane residents wishing to
comment on changes to the city’s bus network, and the final feedback figures are in – sort of.

Residents had until midnight May 20 to have their say on proposed changes to Brisbane’s bus network.

A Brisbane City Council spokesperson says council is now considering all community feedback, with proposals to be made to the
Queensland Government by June 1.

The Queensland Government will then determine the
changes.

“1,506 pieces of feedback were received on council’s proposals and a further 290 pieces of feedback were received on other routes not included in the review,” the spokesperson says.

However, there are still a number of feedback forms submitted at council’s ward office, regional business centres and libraries yet to be collated.

Council in April released its proposed changes to the Brisbane bus network after a barrage of public criticism in March prompted the State Government to surrender responsibility for reviewing Brisbane bus services as part of a state-wide network review.

Under council’s proposals, 80 services will be changed and nine bus routes cut if approved by the State Government.

Council’s review document also shows timetables will be cut, several bus stops will become redundant, and several routes will be amalgamated.

An indication of public interest in the future of certain bus routes is shown by the number of page views for each route proposal on council’s website, where council’s proposed network changes can be seen.

At the end of the public consultation period, council recorded 70,014 page views, 22,669 of which were unique.

The page views per route proposal
were:

1. Maroon CityGlider (3,053 page views)

2. Route 66 (2,569 page views)

3. Route P88 (2,490 page views)

4. Route 200 (1,692 page views)

5. Route 109 (1,619 page views)

6. Route 385 (1,606 page views)

7. Route 199 (1,518 page views)

8. Route 460 (1,500 page views)

9. Route 77 (1,481 page views)

10. Route 590 (1,343 page views).
