Veolia Transdev has launched a new school bus safety program in NSW

March 21, 2013

Veolia Transdev has launched a new program to educate New South Wales primary school children about bus safety.

Veolia Transdev
NSW Bus Managing Director Shane Ellison says the program, Creating Safe Travellers…for Life, will allow teachers to use online tools and classroom-based activities to engage school children about bus safety.

Ellison says schools registered for the program will receive safety resource kits, which will each include a DVD and bus safety song.

The kits will also each include a teacher’s guide and a classroom board game.

“We decided to take an interactive and fun approach to teaching kids about bus safety,” Ellison says.

Ellison says the program has been designed with schools to ensure safety messages are relevant for school children.

The program also aims to teach children how to board buses, how to behave safely on buses and how best to cross streets.

Veolia has encouraged schools interested in participating in the program
to register interest at nsw.bussafety@veoliatransdev.com.
