Greyhound wins quadrella

It was a quadrella of wins for Greyhound Australia at this year’s Golden Backpack awards

October 14, 2012

Greyhound Australia has been voted favourite Australian transport operator for the fourth consecutive year at the 2012 TNT Golden Backpack awards.

Greyhound edged out competition from Great Southern Rail, Premier Motor Service and Tiger Airways to retain the prestigious industry award.

Greyhound Australia Chief Executive Officer Neil Taylor says the team at Greyhound was not content to rest on its laurels after winning the award for the past three years.

“Innovation and moving with the times has always been a priority for Greyhound,” Taylor says.

“Over the past year we’ve introduced a number of offerings for our loyal customers including a new mobile booking site, Platinum Express business class service between Sydney and Canberra and an airline partnership that introduced ‘Fly-Coach’ packages,” he says.

“Greyhound will continue to expand its services and refine its packages to ensure we remain Australia’s best travel company.

“We’ll be rolling out even more travel deals to all corners of the country, offering greater flexibility and the opportunity to save.

“I congratulate the team at Greyhound which has worked tirelessly to ensure we maintain our reputation as Australia’s best transport company.”

A record 80,000 votes were lodged in this year’s Golden Backpack awards.

Social media and online advertising have been credited with the high number of backpackers voting for the award, more than tripling.
