Bus passenger indecent assault

A passenger was allegedly indecently assaulted on an STA bus yesterday morning, as NSW police investigate

NSW police are conducting inquiries after a woman was allegedly indecently assaulted on a bus in inner-Sydney yesterday morning.

The 30-year-old woman and her husband boarded a city-bound STA bus on Anzac Parade, Kensington, about 6.40am on Thursday.

As the bus travelled along Oxford Street, Surry Hills, the woman was allegedly groped from behind by an unknown man.

The woman confronted the man about the incident before she and her husband got off the bus at Martin Place.

The victim contacted police from Eastern Beaches Local Area Command last night to report the matter.

Inquiries into the incident are now underway.

The alleged offender has been described as being aged in his late 50s, with silver-grey hair and a fair complexion. He was last seen wearing a big blue parker and black sunglasses.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or any suspicious activity on board the route 392 bus.
