NSW Police are seeking information after a violent incident last Saturday night on an inner-Sydney bus

Marrickville Police are appealing for information after a projectile was thrown at a bus and it’s driver assaulted in Sydney’s inner west at about 2.10am on Sunday morning, September 9.

A bus was travelling north on New Canterbury Road in Dulwich Hill when it stopped at the intersection of Marrickville Road.

A group of 12 people boarded the bus, with a number of them holding bottles of alcohol.

Some of the group started to argue with the 66-year-old driver and one man allegedly assaulted him by pushing his face.

The group then got off the bus.

As the bus drove away, one of the males allegedly threw a bottle at the rear of the bus smashing the window.

A 54-year-old male passenger inside the bus was hit by pieces of broken glass and later taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for treatment.

Police are appealing for information from anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact Marrickville Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
