Wrestling fans to pack into buses

An unusual week for some Brisbane bus drivers is about to get a bit weirder

August 30, 2012

TransLink has carried a mix of Beach Boys buffs and American rap revellers
to the Brisbane Convention Centre so far this week, but things are about to get even weirder when WWE wannabes pack into buses tonight.

Ever wondered what type of people enjoy watching oiled men in spandex ‘body slamming’ each other?

Well, the TransLink bus drivers taking fans to the WWE RAW World Tour show at the Brisbane Convention Centre tonight will have to wonder no more.

TransLink Deputy-Director General Neil Scales has encouraged
all the faux-fighting fans out there to catch public transport to the show.

“Public transport is the easiest and most affordable way for fans to travel to and from the Brisbane Entertainment Centre for these three events,” Scales says.

He has also
asked the wrestling fans to make sure they get home after the event.

“It is particularly important that customers check when their last connecting train or bus leaves the Brisbane CBD, so they get home safely.”

The World Wrestling event follows the Beach Boys’ performance on Tuesday night and American rapper Pitbull’s performance on Wednesday night.

The Beach Boys are touring the world to mark their 50-year anniversary.
