School bus security bolstered on Gold Coast

Unruly behavior on Gold Coast school buses has led to increased bus security

April 20, 2012

Unruly behaviour on Gold Coast school bus routes has
forced Transit Australia Group (TAG) to beef up its bus security.

Transit Australia Group, parent company to Surfside Buslines, announced today it would fund increased security on all school bus operations on the Gold Coast, effective immediately.

TAG Gold Coast Operations Manager Les Manson says the increased security presence is a temporary measure to remind students unruly behavior on school bus runs is dangerous.

"Orderly behavior on school bus services is essential to ensure the safety of the students, the driver and other road users," Manson says.

"Transit Australia Group have highlighted that this is a whole of community issue, which needs to be addressed not just by bus operators but also by parents, students, schools and Government."
