One Direction for Brisbane buses

If you think you’re having a bad day, spare a thought for the bus drivers who serviced stops near the One Direction concert in Brisbane last night –
their ears are
no doubt
still bleeding.

Drivers were met with scores of screaming
girls
who packed into buses headed
toward the Megastar boy band’s Brisbane Convention Centre
performance on Wednesday night.

TransLink CEO Neil Scales says the Brisbane Convention Centre’s central location meant there were many public transport options nearby for the diehard fans.

“The Convention Centre is only a short walk from South Bank train station and Cultural Centre busway station,” Scales says.

Prior to the concert, Scales warned fans intending on staying up all night to plan ahead and find out when their last service was due to leave Brisbane City.

“I’d encourage customers to plan their journey before they leave home, so that they are not stuck in the city late at night,” Scales says.

Last night was the final performance of the boy band’s Australian tour, but bus drivers beware – the boys will be back when the Aussie leg of their 2013 World Tour kicks off in Brisbane on September 11, 2013.

The boy band’s entire 2012 Australian tour sold out in three minutes.

Normal fares and travel conditions applied for the event.
