The ‘worst kept secret’ in the Queensland bus industry was confirmed at this month’s annual general meeting today which voted in new committee members after yesterday’s Queensland Bus Industry Council’s annual conference, held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.

It was no surprise that Greyhound Australia’s Chief Operations Officer Tony Hopkins was voted into the QBIC presidency for a three year term, replacing Clarks Logan City General Manager Graham Davis who remains involved with QBIC on its management committee.

Hopkins will be joined on QBIC’s Executive by Vice-President Rolf Mitchell, and continuing incumbent Treasurer Skye Naismith.

Joining Hopkins, Mitchell, Naismith and immediate past president Davis on the QBIC management committee are Darren Webster, Darren Crossley, Murray Priebbenow, Vernon Alcantra and Peter Bellingham.

QBIC elected officers to three committees reflecting the council’s main areas of operation in school services, commercial contracts and long distance tour and charter.

The school services committee is:

Vernon Alcantra – Chair
Darren Crossley – Vice Chair
Peter Bellingham
Kevin Emerson
Frank Oliveri
Colin Jennings

Commercial contracts committee:

Graham Davis – Chair
Darren Webster – Vice Chair
Rolf Mitchell
Luke Gray
Wayne Patch

Long Distance Tour and Charter committee:
