A Lake Macquarie school bus service has been asked to remove an advertisement featuring a salacious woman from one of its buses.

The tattoo parlour advertisement, which
showed a ‘scantily dressed’ woman, was reported to Transport for NSW after it was spotted
on the side of
a school bus travelling on the Pacific Highway.

A Transport for NSW spokeswoman says the department asked the Busways service to remove the advertisement from the bus.

“Transport for NSW was made aware of an advertisement on the side of a bus picking up students at Lake Munmorah on the Central Coast,” the spokeswoman says.

She says Transport for NSW believed the bus advertising was inappropriate, and asked Busways to remove it.

“As soon as we were made aware of it, we checked it out, reviewed it and made that decision, ” she says.

The spokeswoman says the department was made aware of the advertisement after an Australian Broadcasting Corporation
journalist made a complaint.

“It was actually an ABC journo that saw it and made the call,” she says.

“They are out on the beat, doing their job.”
